Ephesians 2:19-22 (NKJV): Now, therefore, you are no longer strangers and foreigners, but fellow citizens with the saints and members of the household of God, having been built on the foundation of the apostles and prophets, Jesus Christ Himself being the chief cornerstone, in whom the whole building, being fitted together, grows into a holy temple in the Lord, in whom you also are being built together for a dwelling place of God in the Spirit.

Day 17 (Tuesday 24 August) - Wealth In The Nation!

by NECF Malaysia 40-Day Fast & Prayer

The Lord has ordained the creation of wealth through commerce. Wealth is to be gained through righteous dealings and shared with the poor. This cycle of receiving, generating wealth and giving to the needy is a wondrous picture of God's providence and care for the poor. Let the people of God in every line of commerce seize this truth that through our vocation, we will portray our God as a God of justice, truth, righteousness and uprightness, so that even the unbelievers will be amazed as was the Queen of Sheba with Solomon in 2 Chro 9:2-4, and give glory to God!

Reflection: Deut 8:17-18, Matt 6:33. Ask the Lord to open our eyes to see God as the all-sufficient provider, that through our commercial participation, they will see us as His representation of justice, truth, righteousness and uprightness. Ask the Lord to reveal ways in which you have fallen short in the area of portraying godly ideals such justice, truth and righteousness. Confess and pray that He will strengthen you.

Prayer Points
■ Renounce and repent of sin of greed, materialism, pride and ingratitude towards God's financial blessings to our nation.
■ Believers in the financial realm to be a blessing, that Christians demonstrate the divine principle of blessing others financially, showing mercy to and helping those who are under financial distress.
■ Exposure and correction of unrighteous dealings in all sectors of commerce, law, policy-making, leadership practices and employee actions. Law and policies governing commerce to be reviewed to cover loopholes on unfair practices.
■ Commercial entities to embrace giving to the needy within and outside the nation as part of the company culture. Prov 19:17 affirms that pitying the poor equates to lending to the Lord. What a privilege!
